GOT IT?

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore GET WISDOM: and with all thy getting GET UNDERSTANDING." (Proverbs 4:7 KJV)

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU'VE GOT IT?

"BY THIS ALL MEN SHALL KNOW that ye are my disciples, IF YE HAVE LOVE one to another." (John 13:35 KJV)

It is WISE to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Disciples of Jesus are marked (ARE KNOWN) by LOVE.

Disciples of Jesus UNDERSTAND that JESUS is GOD and that GOD is LOVE. (ref. 1 Timothy 2:5 and 1 John 4:8)

And WE KNOW that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an UNDERSTANDING, THAT WE MAY KNOW HIM that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (1 John 5:20 KJV)

"And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the KNOWLEDGE of his will in ALL spiritual WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the KNOWLEDGE of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, WHO HAS QUALIFIED YOU to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." (Colossians 1:9-14 ESV)

THE WAY OF LOVE

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not LOVE, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not LOVE , I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not LOVE, I gain nothing.

LOVE is patient and kind; LOVE does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. LOVE bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

LOVE never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

So now faith, hope, and LOVE abide, these three; but the greatest of these is LOVE." (1 Corinthians 13 ESV)

"Owe no man any thing, but to LOVE one another..." (Romans 13:8 KJV)
