OUR GOSPEL

"But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by OUR GOSPEL, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

WHAT IS "OUR GOSPEL?"

"... OUR GOSPEL came not unto you IN WORD only, but also IN POWER, and IN THE HOLY GHOST, and IN MUCH ASSURANCE; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake [excellent character - hard working - trustworthy (see 2 Thess. 2:15, 3:6) good traditions of the orderly - not disorderly]. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord [worthy to follow], having received the word IN MUCH AFFLICTION [pressure, tribulation, persecution], WITH JOY OF THE HOLY GHOST [see James 1:2-3, Acts 5:41, and Matthew 10:16-25]. So that ye were ENSAMPLES [the believers as examples, "living epistles" (see 2 Corinthians 3:1-3)] to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord [TESTIMONY - PREACHING -SHARING OF THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH - SHARING OF FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS] not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also IN EVERY PLACE your faith to God-ward is spread abroad [SPREADING OF FAITH]; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you [READILY OBVIOUS], and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God [CHANGED LIVES]; And to wait for his Son from heaven [PATIENTLY - LOOKING FOR], whom he raised from the dead, even JESUS, which delivered us [NOW DELIVERED - ACTIVE - NOW FAITH (see Hebrews 11:1-40 and Matthew 6:10) actively delivered now] from the wrath to come.

This is "OUR GOSPEL."
